Vision Wireless® with brine-water heat pump

Project Description and Initial Situation

The existing heating system with underfloor heating was replaced by a brine-to-water heat pump in a two-family house in the Bernese countryside on Lake Murten. This offers the option of running the system in heating or cooling mode, which the owner wanted to realise.

Implementation with Vision Wireless® Control

The existing control via thermostatic heads (room control boxes) in the return was therefore replaced by wireless zone controllers and wireless room thermostats from the Vision Wireless® series. A total of 16 BT-D03 RF room thermostats were installed in conjunction with two WFC-03 10Z HC RF 230 V 10-zone heating and cooling control boxes. The existing stainless-steel heating manifolds were retrofitted with 22 CX actuators.

Switchover Signal Between Heat Pump and Zone Controller

The switchover signal for heating and cooling is communicated from the heat pump to the zone controller via an existing cable. If no cable can be laid during a renovation, the WFC-03 HCM RF heating/cooling module can be installed and connected next to the heat pump. This then transmits the changeover signal to the zone controller by radio, which saves the time-consuming, subsequent laying of the signal cable.

Experience and Conclusion

Overall, the installation was positive and satisfactory throughout. The installer was also surprised by the simple and intuitive installation.
